Floodplain Engineer (graduate to 2 years’ experience) for Water Technology’s Catchments and Floodplains Group

We now have an outstanding opportunity for an engineer from graduate to 2 years’ experience to join our Catchments & Floodplains team in our Melbourne or Geelong office. The Catchments and Floodplains team specialise in flood investigations, floodplain management plans, eco-hydraulics studies, wetland surface water management and rural drainage.

In this role you will complete flood and drainage investigations, design flood mitigation measures, complete environmental projects aiming to conserve and enhance our wetlands and waterways, all while working closely with other Water Technology groups, our clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Hydrologic & hydraulic modelling
  • GIS and mapping
  • Analysis
  • Report writing
  • Project management

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An engineering degree
  • A strong interest in floodplain and wetland management
  • To ideally, have some experience in hydrology & hydraulic modelling
  • GIS experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An ability to work autonomously
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding service & quality to our clients
