Water Technology gives a warm welcome to 4 new staff members

Water Technology would like to extend a warm welcome to three new staff members that have started in the Brisbane office and one new staff member located in the Melbourne office. Blair Filer, Greg Hansell and Bonny Stutsel have joined the team and are currently settling in to work across various projects in South East Queensland. Timothy Cooke has begun working in the Melbourne office servicing projects in Queensland.

Blair Filer has joined the team as a Graduate Engineer after completing his engineering degree at Griffith University this year. He has experience in Mike, XPRafts, ArcGIS and AutoCAD having spent time as an undergraduate engineer at GHD. He is excited to be in his new role and looks forward to building his engineering knowledge and professional portfolio.

Greg Hansell is an Environmental Engineer with a broad base of project experience in the fields of surface water and water resource planning and engineering, erosion and sediment control design and environmental management. Greg finished his Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental) at Griffith University with 1st Class Honours in 2007 and has since been working in the industry with The department of Transport and Main Roads and Golder Associates Pty Ltd. Greg has joined the team as a Engineer and has been working on  numerous projects over the last few weeks.

Bonny Stutsel has joined us as a Scientist having just completed her honours year.  After finishing a Bachelor of Science at University of Queensland, Bonny relocated to Perth to undertake her honours (still with the University of Queensland) on “Inflow Dynamics of the Australian Alps”.  The focus of her thesis was on Inflow processes, climate teleconnections and partitioning of inflow (Baseflow Recession and Isotope Hydrograph Separation).

Timothy Cooke is an Engineer with 5 years experience in the industry. He has experience in Catchment Hydrology Modelling (RORB, XP-Rafts and WBNM), Hydraulic Modelling (TUFLOW Classic, Mike11 and Mike Flood) and Coastal Process Modelling (SWAN, BOUSS-2D and Tuflow-FV). Timothy has joined the team Brisbane Team and is currently working on projects in South East Queensland and the Northern Territory.

Ben joined Water Technology in 2006, and with 4 years prior experience in the industry in Victoria and overseas, has vast experience in floodplain management. Ben enjoys leading our Catchments and Floodplains group, transferring knowledge to our growing team. Ben has built a high performance team which leads the industry in technical capability, approachability and capacity to deliver quality projects on time and budget. Ben specialises in rural and urban floodplain management, flood hydrology, complex hydrodynamic modelling, environmental eco-­‐hydraulics and community consultation. Ben has made strong contributions to the industry at a technical project level, provision of training to government and private clients, strategic advice and emergency response.
