Lilian De Torres
Lilian has fifteen years’ experience in environmental management roles in regulatory, academic and consulting organisations. Lilian has been certified as a Principal Auditor of Environmental Management Systems – ISO 14001 by Exemplar Global. She participated in the assessment, evaluation and compliance auditing program of heavy manufacturing industries while working for the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and QLD’s Department of Environment & Heritage Protection (EHP) which led to the development and implementation of policies/strategies for a streamlined environmental licensing system and pollution reduction programs.
In NSW she regulated major industries within the Blacktown, The Hills, Hornsby, and Hawkesbury local government areas (LGA’s). In Queensland, Lilian led third party environmental audits for a range of industries and state significant infrastructure developments. She played a key role in project managing federal and state signinficant environmental programs including but not limited to the design of NSW and Australia Regional Climate Modelling 2, Evaluation of the NSW Air Program for years 2017-2022, Clean and Air for Gladstone and Environmental Management of Water Infrastructure for the Liquified Natural Gas facilities within the Great Barrier Reef corridor during construction. Prior to joining Water Technology, Lilian served as a Senior Project Officer/Scientist for the NSW Department of Planning and Environment in a span of 9 and a half years. At that time, she managed the Climate and Atmospheric Science Branch Quality Management System (QMS), validating air quality monitoring data, conducting internal audits for the ISO 17025 accredited air quality reference laboratory, conducting air quality forecasting and project managing the delivery of various environmental projects.
