Gildas is an engineer with expertise in international and local coastal management, waterfront infrastructure, and resilient coastal communities that are integrated with the natural environment.

Gildas is the National Lead for Coasts and Marine at Water Technology and leads a team of engineers and scientists who are passionate about investigating, protecting, and adapting coastlines and the ocean. The team works on a wide array of projects, including beach nourishment, resilient coastal works, coast and marine modelling, and coastal management plans. They particularly relish opportunities to undertake work that involves engaging with the community.

Gildas is active in the industry, serving as the Climate Change champion for the Maritime Commission of the industry group – PIANC.  Through this industry group, Gildas is helping to drive research and innovation and find practical solutions for not only our maritime industry in Australia but around the world.
