Warracknabeal and Brim Flood Investigation

Warracknabeal and Brim Flood Investigation

Water Technology has recently been awarded the Warracknabeal and Brim Flood Investigation. Water Technology staff spent a full day on Yarriambiack Creek, with Wimmera CMA, Yarriambiack Shire Council and community members, taking a look at the creek all the way from the offtake on the Wimmera River to Brim some 100km north. The Yarriambiack Council were very proactive during the January 2011 flood event and constructed many earthen levees, protecting a large number of properties. Water Technology will work closely with CMA, Council and community to better understand flooding along Yarriambiack Creek, recommend improvements to flood warning, and design detailed flood mitigation options complimenting the significant flood mitigation work Yarriambiack Council has already completed.
