Flood Insurance Inquiry Findings
In 2022, floods devastated communities right across Australia. The floods in Queensland, NSW, Victoria and Tasmania led to more than 300,000 insurance claims being lodged, more than for any other natural disaster in Australia’s history.
An inquiry into the response of insurers to this event was launched, and the report was released recently.
Ben Tate, Water Technology’s National Lead – Flooding, has spent a lot of time talking with insureds post event, writing and reviewing a lot of insurance reports. So he was interested to have a read through the 86 recommendations, and he put his thoughts down in an article on LinkedIn.
